The Birth of Joline & Flo

Our journey began with a desire to make diverse cultural premium home decor more accessible, catering to different styles and needs. The idea of Joline & Flo was something our founder, Flo, had been nurturing for a long time. Flo's inspiration stemmed from her personal experiences moving houses.
She witnessed firsthand how different spaces can impact our mood and health, due to lack of good design in many homes and proper functionality. She also thought about how London, being a vibrant place with many expats, offers an opportunity to bring a piece of one's homeland into their new space.

Flo, having worked in various industries and roles for more than 16 years, brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for tech for good. She believes that home and commercial spaces are yet another area where we can leverage technology to do good in the world.

However, the true moment of inspiration struck in an unexpected place: an airport! On the way back from Ibiza to London in September 2022, during a flight delay, Flo had an inspiration about the name of the company and quickly established the company while waiting in the airport lounge area. This experience crystallized the vision of Joline & Flo, blending diverse cultural aesthetics into accessible, premium home decor.

Since that moment, Flo has dedicated herself to learning and growing in the field. She has joined various local (London) and international trade shows in furniture, interior design, and construction. Additionally, she has taken courses to deepen her knowledge, including one at the British Academy of Interior Design (BAID).

Decoding 'Joline & Flo'

At the core of our brand identity lies our logo – 'Joline & Flo.' The name 'Flo' is derived from our founder's own name, embodying her embrace of individuality, strength of character, and unique personality.
'Joline,' on the other hand, is an extension of her personality, derived from the Hebrew word for grace. This combination reflects the vision that our spaces need to harmonize the duality of personality—embracing quirks and grace, strength and softness.
Together, Joline & Flo encapsulate our belief that great design harmonizes these elements, creating spaces that speak to the soul. The golden circles in our logo symbolize unity, emphasizing our commitment to promoting premium brands from diverse cultures and showcasing that while we are unique in our differences, we can equally collaborate and embrace togetherness. Ultimately, our spaces need to make us feel better.
